The elemental naming scheme is a method for naming platonic solids in any number of dimensions. The prefixes used are pyro- for simplices, geo- for hypercubes, aero- for cross polytopes, xylo- for the 24-cell, cosmo- for the small Hn polytopes (dodecahedron and 120-cell), and hydro- for the large Hn polytopes (icosahedron and 600-cell). The prefix stauro- is used to refer to a hypercube and a cross polytope collectively, and the prefix rhodo- is used to refer to the Hn polytopes collectively.
