The Big Eleven refers to the eleven most prestigious wizarding schools in the magical world. Although a myriad of options for magical education exists, including less-prestigious schools, independent covens and even home-schooling, many wizard families aspire to have their child attend one of the "Big Eleven" as they are seen as having the best education in the wizarding world, which may or may not be accurate.
