Damon Graham Devereux Hill OBE (born 17 September 1960) is a retired Formula One driver who was the 1996 Formula One Champion, becoming the first son of a world champion to win a championship. Hill started his Formula One career with Brabham in 1992, replacing Giovanna Amati from the fourth round and onwards until the team folded mid-way during the season. Without a drive for the remainder of 1992, Hill surprisedly got a seat at the Williams team in 1993, getting three wins and a third place in the Drivers' Championship. He was retained for the 1994 season, having a rivalry with Michael Schumacher that lasted until the end of the 1996 season, were he won the Drivers' World Championship at the 1996 Japanese Grand Prix, the final race of the season.
