In June 2008, Noah Newman started getting into trouble with his buddies who were into drinking beer and partying. He convinced his parents to let him attend Genoa City High School instead of Walnut Grove Academy. Noah tried to make small talk with Eden Baldwin about how both he and Eden were newcomers to Genoa City High School, and suggested that perhaps they could work together to "figure the place out." Eden said, "I'm not staying in this loser town, I'm not going to your loser school, and even if I did go to your loser school, I'd never hang out with a loser like you."
