Skim-snakes were a species of rainbow-colored snake native to an uncharted swamp planet in Wild Space nicknamed Graf-World by the Graf family of cartographers. They lived in the heavy tree canopy above the world's swamps. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Lina Graf, the family's eldest child, drove out in the family's landspeeder to search for her brother Milo Graf in the swamps of the planet. The sound of the vehicle disturbed skim-snakes in the canopy above, causing them to burst from the trees.
