Galashiels railway station is to serve the town of Galashiels, Scottish Borders, Scotland. It is to be reopened as part of the Waverley Line, a project to run between Edinburgh and Tweedbank, a village on the outskirts of Galashiels. The original station was closed by British Rail in 1969, along with the rest of the Waverley Line. The station is (as of 2013) expected to reopen by 2016. The new construction work is being undertaken by BAM Nuttall on behalf of Network Rail and Transport Scotland.
