On September 1, 2010 the Wichita Thunder traded Klempa to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in exchange for Jesse Bennefield. Klempa played the next two season for the Killer Bees. Klempa recorded 51 goals and 71 assists for a total of 122 points in 130 games. Klepma ranks 7th in all-time points scored for the Killer Bees franchise. For the 2012–13 season, Klempa signed with the Fort Worth Brahmas after the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees folded. Klempa played all 66 games for the Brahmas while scoring 21 goals, 32 assists, and 53 points.
