The slaughter of the Circle of Nine was a seminal event in the history of Nosgoth, and the first event observed in the narrative of both Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and the Legacy of Kain series as a whole. It was infamously perpetrated in Nosgoth's early history by the vampire Vorador, who infiltrated the Sarafan Stronghold and murdered six of the Circle's members (the Pillar Guardians) in retribution for their sponsorship of the Sarafan and the vampire purge. Following their deaths, Vorador was challenged by Malek, whom he easily defeated.
