This round shield is about equal to a heavy steel shield, perfectly round and designed to be thrown like a frisbee. The shield may be released and thrown as a one-handed weapon, dealing bludgeoning damage on impact. Shield spikes cannot be used if a throwing shield is thrown, but shield blades function normally. For all purposes such as feats and class features, throwing shields count as heavy shields.
