Nate Meineke was the leader of a local state Militia and terrorist group. He served in Vietnam in the United States Marine Corps alongside Piney. He and his son, Russell Meineke, bought weapons from SAMCRO and used them to ambush a prison convoy to free one of their members. They then planned to go into hiding in Mexico.
