The High Lords of Alera are only second in power and prestige to the First Lord. Sometimes referred to as the High Blood of Alera , they're among the most formidable of the realms furycrafters as described in the saying that a High Lords or Ladies can take on a century of Knights. The High Lords rule the realms greatest cities and are the highest rank of lords. To become a High Lord or a ( High Lady in special cases) one must be the heir of the previous High Lord. This title is passed on through inheritance.
