Mrs Timperly-Clarke was a woman who present at the auction of Eric Pollard's house, and bidded unexpectedly, outbidding both Chrissie White and Debbie Dingle who were desperate to buy the house. Mrs Timperly-Clarke went over to Debbie after the auction and revealed that Tom Waterhouse had bought the house for her as a birthday present. Debbie was unhappy that she felt as if she was being bought and agreed to rent the house from Tom instead.
