Varik Tarandon was a Zabrak male born on Coruscant who became a notorious criminal on the galactic capitol. His parents fled Iridonia after his father had racked up a too big of a debt to a mafia, which he was unable to pay off. Varik and his family had several years of peaceful living on Coruscant, living in a ghetto underlevel neighborhood called Kompton. However, the mafia caught up with them in 31 BBY. His parents were killed, but Varik survived, and vowed to become "prominent and important", in their honor. These early events drove him to become, as many locals considered him, a cold and cunning criminal.
