The Klempari Defence was a term which referred to the claim that an individual was the last of their kind. Alaya tried to use it as she was being questioned by the Eleventh Doctor, but as he was the last of the his own kind, he was quickly able to deduce that she was lying. (TV: The Hungry Earth)
