Alan is a student at Middleton High School. He is first seen in line to get on the school bus to the Mount Middleton Ski Trip. He is sad and pitied because his parents are chaperones on the trip. Kim's mom then shows up, to everyone's surprise, telling them that the Platts came down with flu at the last minute. Kim's parents will be the new chaperones for the trip. Alan is then seen smiling and high-fiving another student after he finds out that his parents are sick.
