Sultana Meher al-Saif (lit. Meher [Benevolent] of the Sword Tribe) was the head of the ruling House of Saif in Vanna and the mother of Adela and Razia. She was killed in a duel with Kawkab al-Sharq during the events of the Rose of the Desert, Meher was avenged by Razia who won the duel against the new Sultana and reclaimed the throne that had once belonged to Meher and thus carried on her mother's legacy as the new Sultana of Vanna.
