It has long prospered as a link between Randgriz and the southern grain-producing region. Sometimes referred to as the south gate of Randgriz due to it's position on the main thoroughfare. As southern Gallia escaped the war with the Empire unscathed, it's cities have developed rapidly, and Mellvere now serves as a major supplier to northern cities still recovering from the war. Many casual labourers from neighbouring towns have moved there.
