The USS Daedalus (NX-129 and later NCC-129) was the prototype of the Daedalus-class Federation exploration starship in Starfleet service in the late 22nd century. The ship originated as an Earth Starfleet cruiser ship registered by United Earth, as UES Daedalus (CLM-127). (The Starfleet Museum) Daedalus completed construction in 2161 at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards, and Captain Hiro Matsura became the first commander of the Daedalus and her crew of 230.
