The Centre for Distance Education (CD-ED) was created as part of McKenzie College in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1996. In 1999, CD-ED was acquired by KnowledgeHouse, Inc. In 2000/2001, CD-ED management changed hands again. The Centre for Distance Education is an online private career college and as such is a member of the Private College Association of Nova Scotia (PCANS) and the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) in Canada. The college is also a member of the Better Business Bureau .
