Vini is a character who appears in the Smurfs comic book story "The Little Tree". She is an elf whose sister has been turned into a tiny evergreen tree by a witch who demanded to know where the golden pine cone tree is, though the sister refused to tell her. In the story, Lumberjack Smurf runs into Vini and her sister when he was about to chop her down, mistaking her for an ordinary tree. When Gargamel threatened to burn Vini's sister unless Vini and Lumberjack brought him back enough golden pine cones to pay off his debt, Vini complied and led Lumberjack on a journey fraught with various dangers to the island where the golden pinecone tree was located.
