In the 1970s and 1980s, Daste illustrated booklets and other materials for the American Heart Association, featuring Doctor Truso. He illustrated children's books featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Barney and Friends as well as Break the Code: Cryptography for Beginners. He remains active, illustrating puzzle and activity books and jokebooks.
