1798: * November 24: The peasants, who have faced harsh treatments for the last two hundred years, rise up against the Tsar and his nobility in what is to be known as The First Call. * November 28: The First Call is severely crushed, but with many casualties on the nobility's side as well. * December 26: The Second Call comes to be, but unlike The First Call, the peasants, now reinforced with some disgruntled army units manage to hold out in the small town of Novgorod, where they install a fledgling democracy.
