The DNA slot is a means of identification for Covenant Sangheili. The DNA slot consists of a rectangular black box standing about five units high. Green light is emitted out of a slot on the structure's side where the Elite is supposed to place their hand. When this is done, the machine samples their tissue and compares its DNA with that on file.
