After the battle of Derra V, the 187th and 181st were sent on several other missions. During the war, the 187th grew popular and well known to the public for working alongside the 181st, and were given the nickname of 'the wingmen of the 181st'. They were sent to Anaxes, a planet in the Core Worlds. Typhuss led the 187th and called the 181st commander, elite pilot Scimitar Malfoy. "What's the mission?" asked Typhuss. "We have to go to Dac to where the Scimitar Squadron needs reinforcements in defending the TIE construction facility. They are under attack by a Vong fleet." he replied.
