Jenny hired the fugitive Mousey Rattner to work in her pet store, unaware that the young woman was wanted by police. Jenny was impressed by Mousey's rapport with animals, but was troubled by Mousey's resistance to working in the front window. Jenny became more suspicious when she noticed Mousey wearing expensive clothes. She confronted Mousey, who assaulted Jenny and knocked her unconscious. Mousey robbed Jenny's cash register and fled. Jenny was found shortly thereafter by Sam Catchem, who helped her regain consciousness. Mousey was soon captured by police.
