Gresko was drafted by the Melbourne Eagles in 1918, being taken 14th in the third round and being drafted 46th overall. After spending time in the minor leagues, he played his first full season in 1924 with the Arkham Tigers after being traded by Melbourne in a six-player trade. In 1926, he would be traded to North Lambton. In 1926, he signed a three-year extension with North Lambton for ƒ17,600 per year. Later that year, he would be traded to Tulipstad who would later trade Gresko to Tasmanstad in 1927. After signing the first in a series of contracts with Tasmanstad, Gresko became a long-time fixture of the Explorers middle infield. After being released by Tasmanstad in 1934, Gresko finished his career with a rief run in Wanganui before retiring in Arkham in 1938.
