In 2374, it was housed in the Bajoran Temple on Deep Space 9. Jadzia Dax was in the temple, praying to the Prophets through the orb, when Gul Dukat, possessed by a Pah-wraith transported into the shrine. He fatally wounded Jadzia before releasing the Wraith into the orb. This allowed the Pah-Wraith to enter the wormhole, collapsing its entrance and starting a celestial war between the Prophets and the Pah-wraith. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets")
