Class Compendium: Heroes of Sword and Spell was to be an Essentials compilation of updated rules for the Player's Handbook versions of the cleric, fighter, rogue, warlord, and wizard. Class Compendium was announced in October 2010, and scheduled for a February 2011 release. It was removed from the publication schedule in January 2011.[Dr395:8] The updated rules were eventually made available in Dragon magazine articles and in periodic rules updates.
