The 2008 Elected Term Bill was a bill that was passed in May 2008 changing the terms of both President and Prime Minister. The bill was going to be in force from January 2009 but in October 2008, the bill was amended to slash the terms further making it in force from December 2008 would of made this election the first one to be the direct result of the bill.
