Shosuro Furuyari wrote three of the most important plays in Rokugani history: The Death of Hantei, the tale of the death of the first Emperor; The Mask, a history of the only Scorpion daimyo who never wore a mask; and Father and Daughter, a three-part epic about Bayushi and Shosuro. He was a cunning man, one who knew that loyalty to one's lord must be paid for with the blood of all those who would work against the lord. "There is Murayasu," the heimin would whisper, "the man who owns the world." "No, thank you, gracious daimyo," Murayasu bowed. "I already have a master."
