The Eta-4 Light Interceptor was created as a prototype to fill the roll of next generation of Jedi fighter by Kuat Systems Engineering. The project was designed as a testbed for the future Eta-5, but demand for next generation fighters caused Kuat Systems Engineering to put the line into early production. Although the fighter has shields its main defense is its small profile and incredible speed and unparallelled maneuverability. While having both laser cannons and Ion cannons do to power restraints both cannot be fired at the same time. The Eta-4 Contains an early production Contra-Terrene power source of extreme power and limited size. This power source is able to put out more power than the fighter uses providing for short bursts of enhanced speed, or increased power to shields, or even
