Butterflymon is an Insectoid Digimon whose name and design are derived from the swallowtail butterfly. It is the armor digivolved form of Gatomon through the Digi-Egg of Knowledge. Like all Digimon digivolved with the Digi-Egg of Knowledge it is decorated with the Crest of Knowledge, in this case on the wings.
