The Service des incendies de Wesmount ceased to exist in 2002 with the amalgamation of the city of Westmount with the City of Montréal. In 2006, Westmount regained its independence but the fire protection service remains under the agglomeration council. The Westmount Fire Department at one time offered ambulance service. This ended about the time Urgences-sante began, c.1981.
