Dragon Age: Asunder is a novel written by David Gaider and published in December 2011 by Tor Books. This novel centers around how the Templar Order, the Seekers of Truth and the Circle of Magi all broke off from Chantry control and engaged in a full scale Mage-Templar War. The story takes place in Orlais and starts in 9:40 Dragon, three years after the events of Dragon Age II Act 3, but prior to Varric's interrogation by Cassandra Pentaghast. The book was released on December 20, 2011. A different edition was released on December 23, 2011.
