Leonard Tippett is a former NASCAR driver from Greenville, SC. He competed in thirteen Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning two top-tens. Tippett's debut came in 1951, when he competed at Columbia. Starting 15th in the field, Tippett struggled early and finished 26th. But Tippett rebounded nicely, finishing 17th at Langhorne, 8th at Wilson and then breaking out with a career-best 2nd place run at Hillsboro. Tippett never again finished in the top-ten,but the rest of his season was no lost cause. He qualified in the top-ten in three of his final four races that year and finished in the top-twenty three times, including an 11th place finish at Martinsville after Tippett led 19 laps.
