It is quite possible that Ritt has appeared somewhere in the Vlad novels. He's an Ensign in the Phoenix Guard. He's probably in the Red Boot Company (though it's not specified, this seems likely due his connection with Piro and Khaavren) and with the position of Ensign, might be doing the sort of duties that Khaavren did at the beginning of Five Hundred Years After. Vlad has visited the palace and talked to Zerika... was Ritt (unnamed, of course) there guarding her? Something to watch for in re-reading.
