The Tartarus System was used as a prison for captured High Guard vessels after the First Systems Commonwealth Civil War. The star in the system is a brown dwarf supernova remnant. There are no raw materials in the system and it is difficult to slipstream into and out of the system. ("The Knight, Death, and the Devil") 200 years later, the system is ruled by the Drago-Kazov Pride and they had created a successful Artificial Intelligence eraser. Captain Dylan Hunt of the Andromeda Ascendant learned of this and located Tartarus with the help of Ryan, the avatar of the Clarion's Call.
