Admiral La Forge was a Starfleet officer in the 23rd century, an old friend of James Kirk and a descendant of earlier Admiral George La Forge. He was also an ancestor of Geordi La Forge. La Forge relayed orders to Kirk to find alien starships, possibly Klingon in nature, in an area of space bordering the Federation. (TOS novel: The Galactic Whirlpool)
