Budweiser began sponsorship in the Cup Series in 1983, with the Billy Hagan-owned #44 of Terry Labonte. The next year, they began sponsorship of the two-car Junior Johnson team of #11 Darrell Waltrip and #12 Neil Bonnett. Bud continued sponsorship of the #11 until the end of 1994. They moved to the #25 Hendrick Motorsports team between 1995 and 1999. They sponsored the #8 Dale Earnhardt Inc. Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr. between 1999 and 2007. They then sponsored the #9 Richard Petty Motorsports Dodge/Ford driven by Kasey Kahne from 2008-2010 until Kahne moved to Team Red Bull in 2011. Budweiser last sponsored the #4 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet SS driven by Kevin Harvick until they were replaced by Busch Beer in 2016.
