Hiruma Megumiko was a Crab Clan samurai and tsukai-sagasu. Toritaka Genzo, who had been denied the opportunity to study as a tsukai-sagasu, asked to instead have a copy of Megumiko's writings. Megumiko was impressed with Genzo and requested that her sensei, Kuni Takemura, study with Genzo.
