Circa 981 ABY, groups of settlers on Ansion became embroiled in a border dispute between them. During a border negotiation being conducted by Galactic Alliance Ambassador Cos Alexander, an Ansionian settler was caught up in an argument with Jedi Knight Jhon Cordatus, Alexander's guard for the mission. The settler attempted to shoot Cordatus, whose deflection of the shot with a lightsaber led to the death of another man. The settler was killed in the subsequent fire fight between the different groups of settlers, and the negotiations ended in unsuccessfully.
