Mrs Scanlan was a customer of Gamma Garments who bought a pink nightie in the store in May 1964 for £2/8/6. Telling a slightly embarrassed Emily Nugent that it would warm her husband up on the cold nights, she nevertheless asked her to take the price tag off so that he wouldn't know how much she had spent on it. Credited as "Customer", the character's name was given in dialogue.
