The 1952 Malaccan conflict was a brief war between India and Siam, via proxy of Khmeristan. All three nations sought control over the Strait of Malacca, controlled by the independent nation of Malacca. India and Siam fought in name only, allowing Khmeristan to do most of the fighting while lending occasional troops to the effort. However, Malacca was backed by Russia, the United States, and France, all of which wanted to ensure that no outside power controlled the strait. The war began to dwindle as relations between Siam, Khmeristan, and India began to break down. All nations ceased fighting sometime in May 1952, although hostile feelings exist to the present.
