The centaur is the first tier unit of the Mountain faction in Heroes of Might and Magic for Game Boy Color, and is recruited from a cave in a Mountain town. The centaur has low defense and hit points and deals relatively little damage, but can be recruited in large numbers in order to bolster the damage of the unit. Well-protected centaur groups can reach numbers in the hundreds by the end of a long scenario. It is the only ranged creature in the Mountain army, providing some support for the frontline fighters.
