Iraktaan was a heron who lived in the ford of the River Moss. He was known to Fieldroan the Traveler, who described him as "sticklegs of the feathered race". He threatened Mariel Gullwhacker, Dandin, Tarquin Longleap Woodsorrel, and Durry Quill, but was subdued by Mariel's Gullwhacker and Dandin's sword. Later, he attacked a group of Greypatch's searats when they entered his territory, and killed Stumpclaw as well as three other rats.
