Makushimi (幕染み, Makushimi) is the first and current village head of Iwagakure, elected by the people of the Land of Earth. He is the first non-shinobi to hold such a position and is also known for being one of the figureheads of the revolution that incited this election. However, due to the crisis the country went through Makushimi and the Daimyō saw no other option but to rely on Magoseong for further survival, a political move which saw great resistance among the people. With his popularity dwindling, Makushimi had to watch the very people that put them into his position accuse him of selling the country's independence for his own profit and call for his disposal. Nevertheless, he still holds his fair share of supporters and his own resolve hasn't dwindled despite it all.
