One of Naff's more memorable scenes was when she first meets Captain Jean-Luc Picard and literally bumps into him, spilling a drink all over his uniform. Her character was well-established for two consecutive episodes, but then was abruptly never seen or referred to again as part of the Enterprise-D crew. In 1990, Naff was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the category "Outstanding Performer in a Children's Special" for her role in The Perfect Date.
