Farla is the princess of the planet Lyra. She once meet the Voltron pilot Lance when he'd come to her planet looking for the famed "Rose of Lyra". When she asked him why he wanted the flower he explained it was to save Princess Allura of planet Arus from the evil flowers created by Haggar. While at first reluctant, Farla agreed to ask her leaders if he could have the flowers he needed. However, Prince Lotor had been one step ahead. He stole all the harvested flowers and seeds before destroying as many of the plants as he could. Farla witnessed the flowers being destroyed and tried to stop it. She was injured and Lance had to get her medical help. As he did so Farla willingly gave him the few seeds she kept herself and asked him to return with those he did not need.
