Owens System was a star system in the space between the Manticoran Alliance and the Republic of Haven. Havenite officials agreed that the loss of the Barnett System would place Owens in serious jeopardy. (HH7, HH9) Owens was later indeed captured by the Alliance and was one of the systems that President Eloise Pritchart initially offered to cede on a permanent basis. (HH10)
