Professor Trillas Bachtein is the man who first succeeded in creating a Subspace warp near Earth in 2087 AD. The descendant of a well-known physicist, Bachtein's technology allowed mankind to explore star systems outside its own for the first time, opening up a new chapter in Earth's history. Practical application of this technology enabled humanity to take its first steps out of the Sol System. Trillas Bachtein's research did not stop with, nor was limited to, subspace warp technology. He was also an expert star ship designer and his work was said to be influential to the newly formed Terran Alliance. Professor Bachtein continued with his research, hoping to one day surpass Eldarian technological prowess, with technology developed on Earth.
